Special-Lite is looking for a Product Design Detailer/Drafter to join our Sales Operations team at our Decatur location.
This individual utilizes various computer programs including Configura (a parametric graphical configuration computer software) to create drawings and detail product specifications based off our customers' order requests. These drawings and product specifications are utilized by our production team to ensure they build our product (mainly doors and frames) according to the order specifications. This individual works closely with our customers and production team members to ensure product accuracy and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and is precise, organized, patient, observant, and analytical, with the ability to focus deeply on tasks and manage time effectively. The ideal candidate is good at math, enjoys learning and problem-solving, and works well under pressure with a high sense of urgency. Experience with Configura, CAD, or other technical drawing/configuration software is a plus.

Utilizing various computer programs including Configura (a parametric graphical configuration computer software), customer order forms and customer drawings; creates work orders (shop sheets) for the production team

Works with customers to provide them with the correct product for their application.

Reads and renders hardware template information into order specifications and details.

Modifies, copies, and stores documents using computer software and hardware.

Communicates with internal and external customers via email, phone and inperson.

High school diploma/ GED or equivalent education and experience.

The ability to perform basic algebra.

The ability to learn specialized software, including Configura.

The ability to read simple drawings and/or blueprints.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team with internal and external customers.

Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects with minor variations, and meet deadlines.

Ability to use phones, copiers, and scanners (office machines).

Ability to use or knowledge of measuring devices ruler, tape measure, micrometer, caliper.

Demonstrated ability to be flexible and respond to changing business demands.

Previous manufacturing or construction experience.

Blueprint or template reading.

Familiarity with construction division 8 products and terminology is a plus.

Works in a traditional office environment.

Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.

Required to talk and hear.

Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
