Round Barn Estate is seeking an energetic, organized, and hospitality-driven Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our high-volume winery, distillery, brewery, and hospitality experience.
The Assistant Manager serves as a key member of the property leadership team and works closely with the General Manager to ensure exceptional guest experiences, strong team performance, efficient operations, and consistent execution of Moersch Hospitality Group standards.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position. The Assistant Manager is expected to actively lead from the floor, support employees throughout service, resolve guest concerns, maintain operational standards, and help create an environment that is welcoming, engaging, efficient, and fun. Because Round Barn Estate produces and serves its own wine, beer, and spirits, the successful candidate should have a strong interest in beverage hospitality and be comfortable developing their knowledge of the Round Barn portfolio.
Support the General Manager in overseeing daily property operations and hospitality service.
Serve as a manager-on-duty and provide visible leadership throughout assigned shifts.
Ensure opening, operating, shift-change, and closing procedures are completed accurately and consistently.
Monitor guest flow, service levels, staffing, and operational needs throughout the property.
Maintain a strong presence in guest-facing areas and proactively identify opportunities to improve the guest experience.
Resolve guest concerns professionally, promptly, and in accordance with company standards.
Support high-volume operations, including weekends, holidays, special events, festivals, and peak seasonal periods.
Ensure property appearance, cleanliness, organization, and presentation meet Round Barn Estate and Moersch Hospitality Group standards.
Lead employees with professionalism, consistency, accountability, and a hospitality-first mindset.
Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing development of team members.
Reinforce expectations regarding hospitality, product knowledge, responsible alcohol service, attendance, appearance, and operational procedures.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, events, product information, and operational updates.
Provide real-time coaching and recognition to employees.
Support performance documentation and corrective action processes in partnership with the General Manager and Human Resources.
Help identify high-performing employees and support development of the property's internal talent bench.
Foster a positive workplace culture built around teamwork, communication, accountability, and respect.
Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Round Barn wines, craft beers, spirits, cocktails, and other products.
Educate and coach employees on product knowledge, tasting experiences, responsible service, and appropriate guest recommendations.
Ensure beverage service standards are consistently followed.
Support tastings, retail sales, bar operations, and other beverage-focused guest experiences as needed.
Promote responsible alcohol service and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable liquor regulations.
Assist with employee scheduling and daily staffing adjustments based on business volume.
Monitor labor utilization and support management in meeting established labor objectives.
Assist with cash handling, deposits, drawer reconciliation, and other financial controls.
Support inventory counts, ordering, receiving, product rotation, and inventory organization.
Review operational reports and communicate significant trends or concerns to the General Manager.
Assist with maintaining employee records, training documentation, checklists, and other operational materials.
Support timekeeping accuracy and ensure employees are clocked into the appropriate job codes.
Assist with controlling waste, breakage, discounts, comps, and other controllable expenses.
Assist with the execution of concerts, festivals, private events, seasonal programming, and other high-volume property activities.
Coordinate with hospitality, culinary, beverage, event, security, facilities, and other teams as necessary.
Help ensure appropriate staffing, setup, guest flow, service execution, and breakdown.
Respond quickly to changing operational needs, weather conditions, attendance levels, and guest volumes.
Maintain a calm and professional leadership presence during high-volume or unexpected situations.
Ensure employees follow sanitation, food safety, alcohol service, workplace safety, and company policies.
Identify and promptly address safety hazards or facility concerns.
Assist with maintaining secure cash, alcohol, inventory, equipment, and restricted areas.
Support emergency procedures and incident documentation when necessary.
Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements and Moersch Hospitality Group policies.
Previous hospitality, restaurant, tasting room, bar, retail, or venue leadership experience preferred.
Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
Experience working in a high-volume hospitality environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, or beverage service is preferred; willingness to learn is required.
Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coach and hold employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
Comfortable working with POS systems, scheduling systems, email, and basic office software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced environment.
Must meet all legal requirements applicable to the service of alcoholic beverages.
Availability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, special events, and peak seasonal periods is required.

The physical requirements described below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including the majority of an assigned shift.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal weather conditions.
Ability to regularly bend, reach, squat, twist, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, move, or assist with items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, outdoor grounds, production and storage areas, and high-traffic guest spaces.
Ability to assist with moving tables, chairs, beverage cases, supplies, event materials, and operational equipment as needed.
Ability to work effectively in environments that may include moderate to high noise levels, large crowds, live music, changing temperatures, and outdoor conditions.
Ability to safely perform physical tasks associated with opening, closing, event setup, service, inventory, and general property operations.
