Bourbon Barrel Operations & Client Coordinator Barrel Global · Lancaster, KY (remote + on-site) · Part-time or Full-time · Independent Contractor
About Barrel Global
Barrel Global is a premium barrel ownership and spirits curation company. We work with clients across the country who purchase, hold, and take delivery of full barrels of bourbon, whiskey, and tequila from some of America's finest distilleries. As we grow our Kentucky operations, we're looking for someone who knows the industry and can keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
The Role
This is a coordination and client-facing role, not a warehouse job. You'll be the operational hub connecting our clients, our distillery and warehouse partners, and our internal team. You'll manage the flow of sample requests, keep barrel records accurate, and make sure clients have a seamless experience from first sample to final delivery.
You'll need to be comfortable visiting distilleries and bonded warehouses around Lancaster, KY on a regular basis, but your core work is organisational: tracking, communicating, documenting, and coordinating.
What You'll Do
Sample & Client Coordination
- Manage all incoming sample requests from clients and internal teams, from intake through to delivery confirmation
- Liaise with distillery and warehouse partners to source and arrange sample pulls
- Ensure samples are packaged and shipped correctly via our courier accounts, with accurate labeling and TTB-compliant documentation
- Keep clients informed throughout the process — this is a client-experience role as much as a logistics role
Barrel Records & Inventory
- Maintain accurate barrel inventory records across our Kentucky locations, including Bluegrass and Extended Stave
- Track barrel movements, ownership details, and aging milestones
- Ensure our records are always current and audit-ready
- Prepare barrels and facilities ahead of client visits and on-site tasting events
Distillery & Warehouse Liaison
- Coordinate Transfers in Bond (TIBs) and other barrel movements between bonded facilities, managing all associated TTB paperwork
- Schedule and confirm logistics with distillery and warehouse partners
- Build and maintain good working relationships with our partner contacts across the Kentucky distilling community
What We're Looking For
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple open requests without dropping the ball
- Comfortable with TTB documentation, TIBs, and the compliance side of bonded facility operations
- A confident communicator with clients, distillery partners, and internal teams
- Based within easy reach of Lancaster, KY with a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed at IRS rate)
- Experience in barrel brokerage, spirits logistics, distillery operations, or a similar role is a strong plus
Compensation
- $25/hour, Independent Contractor (1099)
- Part-time (20 hrs/week): approx. $2,200/month
- Full-time (40 hrs/week): approx. $4,300/month
- Bi-weekly, invoice-based
- Mileage reimbursed at the 2026 IRS rate (72.5 cents/mile)
