Full Job Description

Hybrid | NYC Metro / Northern NJ | $160,000–$200,000 + Bonus

About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Transaction Advisory professional to lead buy-side Financial Due Diligence (FDD) and sell-side Quality of Earnings (QoE) engagements for privately held middle-market businesses.

This is a client-facing role for someone who has personally prepared QoE reports, EBITDA adjustments, and financial due diligence analyses for acquisitions and business sales.

This is not a corporate development, FP&A, technical accounting, or internal M&A position.

What You'll Do

Lead buy-side Financial Due Diligence and sell-side Quality of Earnings engagements from kickoff through final report.
Prepare and review Quality of Earnings (QoE) reports, EBITDA normalization schedules, and working capital analyses.
Analyze revenue quality, margins, customer concentration, working capital, and cash flow.
Convert messy QuickBooks, tax-basis, and cash-basis financial records into defensible financial analyses.
Work directly with business owners, private equity firms, strategic buyers, lenders, attorneys, and investment bankers.
Present findings to clients and transaction stakeholders.
Manage multiple concurrent engagements while mentoring junior staff.

Required Experience

To be considered, candidates should have:

CPA designation.
5+ years of Transaction Advisory Services or Financial Due Diligence experience within a CPA or advisory firm.
At least 2 years of dedicated experience preparing external client-facing Quality of Earnings reports.
Experience leading buy-side financial due diligence engagements.
Experience preparing EBITDA adjustments and working capital analyses.
Strong understanding of lower middle-market transactions.
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience working with QuickBooks, cash-basis, tax-basis, and accrual accounting.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings to clients.

Preferred Experience

Experience serving privately held businesses between $10M–$100M enterprise value.
Experience working with owner-operated businesses and imperfect accounting records.
Experience mentoring staff and reviewing deliverables.
Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, etc.) to improve financial analysis and workflow efficiency.

Pay: $160,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
