Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with families or individuals facing economic hardship, housing instability, or other life challenges.
Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and service delivery.
Familiarity with local community resources and social service systems.
Experience in assessment, goal setting, and service planning.
Demonstrated ability to manage programs and supervise staff.
Experience with contracts, budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in nonprofit and/or government-funded programs is preferred.
Ability to design and facilitate inclusive programs, workshops, or events.
Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Family and Community Strengthening, the Director is responsible for leading and supporting the operation, coordination, and development of Family Resource Center (FRC) and Perinatal programs.

The role oversees programs that support families experiencing economic hardship, housing instability, or other challenges by promoting stability, strengthening parenting skills, and encouraging positive child and family development. Services include parent education, supervised visitation, support groups, and community-based activities designed to build skills, resilience, and connection.

Programs may include, but are not limited to:

Parenting education and support groups

Perinatal support services

Life skills and personal development workshops

Community engagement events

Supervised parent-child visitation services

These services are designed to strengthen families and foster healthy, supportive communities.

Job Responsibilities

1. Program Leadership & Operations

Oversee the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of program operations and services.

Develop and maintain annual program and service calendars aligned with contractual requirements.

Ensure programs and activities meet stated goals, deliverables, and community needs.

Provide coverage and leadership in the absence of the Senior Director, as needed.

Support ongoing program improvement and operational effectiveness.

2. Financial & Contract Management

Prepare and submit documentation related to contracts, renewals, and negotiations.

Develop, maintain, and monitor vendor and service provider agreements.

Track budgets, forecast expenses, and ensure alignment with program funding.

Submit invoices and required financial documentation in a timely manner.

Coordinate with the finance department to support accurate expenditures and billing.

3. Compliance & Reporting

Maintain all required documentation in compliance with contract and organizational standards.

Conduct regular audits of case files, attendance records, and program documentation.

Compile, analyze, and submit reports to funding agencies and stakeholders.

Ensure adherence to confidentiality policies and organizational procedures.

Support compliance with safety, risk management, and mandated reporting requirements.

4. Staff Supervision & Leadership

Supervise assigned staff, including program administrative staff, outreach personnel, and contractors.

Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support professional development.

Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

Apply leadership competencies aligned with organizational values and frameworks.

5. Community & Partner Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including nonprofits, government agencies, and local organizations.

Represent the program in community meetings and collaborative initiatives.

Support outreach efforts and community engagement activities.

Ensure appropriate representation at safety or cross-functional committees.

6. Program Delivery & Support

Provide logistical and, when needed, facilitation support for groups, workshops, and community events.

Facilitate or co-facilitate at least one group session per quarter, as appropriate.

Support delivery of services that are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to participant needs.

Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of required documentation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates primarily in a community-based setting, including office environments, family resource centers, and program sites. The role requires regular interaction with staff, community partners, and program participants in both individual and group settings. Work may involve attending meetings, events, and activities at various locations within the community. The environment is collaborative and mission-driven, with a focus on serving families and supporting inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive engagement. The position may occasionally require evening or weekend hours to support program delivery, events, or community needs.

The physical demands of this role are consistent with a combination of office and program-based work. Duties may include extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking; use of a computer and standard office equipment; and occasional lifting or moving of materials up to approximately 20 pounds (e.g., program supplies or event materials). The role may also involve setting up for meetings or community events and facilitating group activities.
