Position Summary
Job Description:
- Verifies conformance of purchased parts, in-house machined parts and finished goods by:
o Reviewing part prints, specifications and developing inspection & test plans.
o Determining tools necessary to inspect parts per part print, specifications and test plan.
o Completing inspections per part print, specifications and test plan.
o Conducting visual verifications of parts per specifications.
o Clearly documenting all measurements obtained in an inspection within a test record.
o Accurately outlines any non-conformities found in a formal failure report.
Performs manufacturing process audits to assess conformance to appropriate documented procedures and instructions which adheres to ISO standard, and verifies controls are in-place to maintain conformance.- Follows all appropriate work instructions and procedures relevant to the role. Recommends revisions to work instructions as deemed appropriate for process improvement.
- Actively involved in, as well as potentially leading, problem solving and corrective action implementation efforts.
- Coordinates daily with other inspectors and ensures on-time completion of all QC Team tasks.
- Familiar with, and adheres to, all safety requirements.

Education
High School/GED
Related experience
5 years of experience in advanced mechanical inspection of complex machined parts and performing first article inspections & reports.

Inspection Equipment
Proficient in using all the following tools:
Calipers, micrometers, intra-mics, ring & plug thread gauges, pin gauges, NPT gauges, height gauge, profilometer and other basic inspection hand tools.
CMM, smart scope/comparator and/or similar vision system
Spring testing equipment, hardness testing equipment, surface roughness inspection equipment
Technical Knowledge
Able to read and understand complex part drawings and specifications.
Experienced with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
Audit Skills
Able to conduct process audits based on procedures and instructions, assembly & test specifications.
Able to read and understand top level assembly drawings, product test specifications required to complete product audits.
Able to document audit findings with concise and details of nonconformities, follow up and verify corrective and improvement actions to close audit reports.
Visual Inspection Skills
Able to complete visual inspection tasks after understanding acceptance criteria, with attention to details and knows how to determine if result requires escalation.
Able to summarize and complete visual inspection reports, understands basic containment requirements and control of non-confirming products.
