Full Job Description

Company Description

South Jersey Recovery Program (SJRP) is a leader in substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment for adults and their families. SJRP provides a safe, stabilizing environment where clients are met with compassion, dignity, and respect at every stage of recovery. Our experienced, multidisciplinary team recognizes the deep connection between trauma, substance use, and mental health, and guides individuals and families through these intertwined challenges while helping them build lifelong coping and recovery skills. Through a holistic, culturally responsive, and trauma-sensitive approach, SJRP delivers comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and support for all clients and the people who love them.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Therapist role at a prominent treatment center located in southern New Jersey. The Therapist will deliver trauma-informed clinical care to adults experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Responsibilities include individual therapy, group facilitation, family therapy, biopsychosocial and clinical assessments, case management, and evidence-based behavioral health interventions. The Therapist works within a recovery-oriented, abstinence framework to support clients' stabilization, healing, and long-term well-being, while engaging families as partners in the treatment process.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field
Active licensure: LCSW, LSW, LPC, LAC, or LCADC (LCADC in addition too)
Clinical training or demonstrated experience in trauma-informed care (e.g., understanding of trauma's impact on the brain and behavior; familiarity with modalities such as TF-CBT, EMDR, Seeking Safety, or similar)
Knowledge of substance use treatment modalities and best practices, including the ASAM criteria, relapse prevention, and stages of change
Experience treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders)
Proficiency in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and behavioral health interventions
Experience providing family therapy and engaging family systems in treatment
Skilled in case management and coordinated, multidisciplinary care
Strong communication, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills
Commitment to delivering culturally responsive, person-centered, and non-judgmental care
