Responsibilities
1. Follow written and verbal direction to ensure production methods and quality of product meet standard specifications, and communicate the need for revising standard operating and working practices.
2. Maintain production methods, processes, machines and equipment.
3. Lead daily troubleshooting activities, provide solutions and support for process concerns and improvements within the department.
4. Analysis and implement countermeasures for safety, quality, & ergonomic concerns.
5. Monitor machines and develop spare parts inventory list and in-house stock parts.
6. Adhere to machine/equipment preventative maintenance plans
7. Assist with identifying, implementing and reporting to QC all appropriate counter- measures in production problem areas, including N/G's.
8. Coordinate work with inside and outside skilled trades and suppliers for machines, dies, spare parts, etc.
9. Assist and support Maintenance and Die Maintenance departments with machine and die trouble shooting to resolve quality, cost, and delivery issues.
10. Maintain flexible hours to support a three shift and weekend operation.
11. Ability to make and present reports to upper management for any departmental issues with machines, suppliers, or parts concerning quality cost and delivery.
12. Comply with departmental continuous improvement activities (product quality, production efficiencies, scrap, downtime, etc)
13. Promote and ensure conformance to the company’s IATF 16949 procedures (work standards, regulations, quality manual)
14. Promote and ensure conformance to the company’s ISO 14001 procedures (recycling, reducing waste)
15. Promote and ensure a safe, clean, harassment free, working environment. Comply with department 5C activities
16. Effectively communicate with management, direct supervisor and associates
17. Additional projects assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
1. High School Diploma or GED - Required
2. Degree in Industrial Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience
1. Aluminum Die Cast (high pressure cold chamber casting)
2. Mechanical, electrical and hydraulics
3. Manufacturing environment
4. Trouble shooting/root cause analysis
5. Computer knowledge
Environmental/Working Conditions
1. Essential functions of this job require the associate to regularly: sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, carry and lift
PPE as required by company policy
