Stainless Steel TIG Welder

Location: Berwick, PA
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Level: Mid-Level (2–5 years preferred)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Stainless Steel TIG Welder to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for prepping, fitting, and high-precision TIG welding of stainless steel components, including thin-gauge sheets, tubing, and structural parts. The ideal candidate has an excellent eye for detail, strong heat control techniques, and a commitment to producing visually clean, structurally sound welds.

Key Responsibilities

· TIG Welding: Perform high-quality GTAW (TIG) welding on various thicknesses of stainless steel, maintaining consistent bead aesthetics and penetration.

· Fabrication & Fitting: Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to align, clamp, and tack-weld parts together.

· Heat & Distortion Management: Apply proper techniques (e.g., pulsing, proper sequencing) to prevent warping and maintain tight dimensional tolerances.

· Finishing: Grind, blend, clean, and passivate welds as required to meet high-aesthetic standards.

· Equipment Maintenance: Set up and maintain welding machines, gas flow regulators, torches, and consumables (tungsten sharpening, cup selection).

Qualifications & Skills

· Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional TIG welding experience specifically working with stainless steel.

· Technical Skills: Strong understanding of DC welding parameters, argon shielding gas flow rates, and material properties of 300-series stainless steel.

· Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints, geometric dimensions, and weld symbols.

· Precision: Proficiency using basic measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, squares).

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
