Full Job Description

A great UHY client is seeking an Accounting Transformation Manager. The ideal candidate will have public company accounting experience, strong SOX and internal controls knowledge, and a passion for improving accounting processes through systems and technology.

The Accounting Transformation Manager role is an onsite position. This is a direct hire position.

Accounting Transformation Manager Responsibilities

Analyze existing accounting and finance processes to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency.
Lead accounting transformation initiatives focused on standardizing and optimizing financial processes.
Support IPO readiness activities, including documenting accounting processes and designing future-state internal controls.
Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation.
Partner with finance and accounting teams to redesign month-end close, reporting, and financial workflows.
Support ERP system enhancements, implementations, and finance technology initiatives.
Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-implementation reviews.
Improve data quality, financial reporting accuracy, and audit readiness across the organization.
Assist with the design and implementation of scalable accounting processes and internal controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into finance solutions.
Support SOX compliance, audit requirements, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve finance operations.

Accounting Transformation Manager Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
CPA preferred.
4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with public company and/or Big 4 public accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting processes, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
Experience supporting finance transformation, process improvement, or systems implementation initiatives.
Experience with ERP systems; Workday experience is highly preferred.
Experience with finance applications such as BlackLine, Workiva, or similar platforms is a plus.
Strong systems, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience working with financial reporting and audit requirements.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Experience leveraging AI or automation tools within finance is a plus.
