Full Job Description

The Sous chef is given the task of assisting the daily operations including the restaurant and Banquets under the supervision of the executive chef. You are required to be in consistent contact with the daily operations while also communicating with our management staff with the ability to problem solve any situation. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to expand their skill set.

Restaurant Sous Chef Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of a restaurant Sous chef are as follows-but not limited to:

The skills and specifications of the Sous chef must be as follows:

The Sous chef will be organized and able to handle volume while maintaining a professional composure. You will be a working Sous Chef-line work is required.
Culinary expertise is the most obvious requirement of the Sous chef in terms of skills and specifications. The Sous chef has to be updated on the latest kitchen techniques and innovations as led by the executive chef.
Knowledge of ingredients is a must.
An un-paralleled drive to consistency/commitment & reliability
The sous chef will show up for their shifts as required by the executive chef
The sous chef will not deviate from the recipe standards set by the executive chef
The sous chef will be responsible for daily featured items under the executive chef’s supervision

Restaurant Sous Chef Education and Qualification:

The sous chef must have a proven track record, professional references along with.

Consistency and Reliability
ServSafe Food Handler Certification (Manager certification preferred)
5 years of culinary/kitchen experience (high-volume establishment preferred)
Working knowledge of executing recipes
Ability to work various stations in the kitchen including but not limited to Grill, Fryers, Flat Top, Ovens
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly
Reliable transportation (parking is provided)
Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 10 hours a day) on tile, concrete, metal and grated surfaces
Ability to use, clean and maintain kitchen equipment

Work Location: Hotel Setting

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
