IT Support Specialist

Information Services Division

Salary: $87,271 - $90,661

This is a non-supervisory position.

Job Summary:

This job is with the Information Services (IS) Division, Office of the Sergeant at Arms (SAA), U.S. House of Representatives (House). The IS division procures, manages and supports technology-related resources and projects for the Office of the SAA, and collaborates with other House offices to ensure the security and efficiency of SAA information systems.

Incumbent deploys, maintains and decommissions hardware and software (Windows computers and iOS mobile devices), provides technical support (phone, email and desk-side), and assists with technical projects. Incumbent must possess strong technical and customer service skills and be able to efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stay organized and communicate effectively is a must.

Duties:

Typical duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Configures and deploys desktops computers, laptops, peripherals and mobile devices
Creates and manages Active Directory user accounts and distribution groups
Troubleshoots desktop and mobile device problems
Provides technical phone and desk-side support to end users
Supports disaster recovery and business continuity programs

SPECIALTY

Information Security - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction in order to provide confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, permanent. Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Must be able to work outside of normal business hours - evenings and weekends may be required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This job is based in a typical office environment. Role requires equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. The incumbent should be capable of meeting physical requirements, which may include sitting, lifting, bending, crouching, walking, and standing.

Other Significant Factors:

Job requires on-call support.
Job requires local travel within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Job may be required to report to work in all conditions.
Job may require various shifts, extended hours or weekends.
