Full Job Description

Work Schedule: Hybrid; in office Tuesday through Thursday
Employment Type: Contract, this position will last until the beginning of August 2027, however there a chance of extension

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Contract Specialist to manage complex, high-value contractual agreements and support a broad range of corporate procurement needs.

This is a contract-focused position rather than a traditional buyer role. The ideal candidate will have strong experience reviewing, redlining, negotiating, and administering contracts, with the ability to understand and negotiate complex commercial language.

The position manages supply chain activities for corporate requirements with an estimated annual value of up to $100 million. Responsibilities include supporting Design-Build projects, construction services, engineered equipment, software, engineering services, commodities, project resources, and indirect services.

The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with technical subject matter experts, legal counsel, project managers, suppliers, and internal business partners.

Key Responsibilities

Develop negotiation strategies and company positions for complex, multi-million-dollar contracts.
Partner with the Office of General Counsel to identify risk and incorporate appropriate commercial protections.
Review, redline, negotiate, and administer contracts, terms, and conditions.
Conduct contract negotiations to achieve favorable business, financial, and operational outcomes.
Interpret complex contract language and identify commercial, legal, and financial risks.
Perform market, pricing, supplier, and financial analysis.
Mitigate supplier and contract risk through performance bonds, payment bonds, parental guarantees, foreign currency hedging, and other appropriate methods.
Analyze claims and disputes and develop recommended company positions.
Consult with senior management to negotiate and resolve procurement-related claims and disputes.
Manage the supply chain process from initial business need through contract administration and investment recovery.
Evaluate suppliers and develop pricing methodologies, warranties, and performance requirements.
Determine the most effective contract and supply chain models for acquiring products and services.
Identify new suppliers, products, technologies, and sourcing opportunities.
Establish and maintain professional supplier relationships based on ethical business practices.
Support complex capital projects involving software, Software as a Service, hardware, professional services, construction, and engineered equipment.
Work with project management teams to develop contracting strategies, project plans, resource requirements, and supplier performance expectations.
Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned categories.
Monitor category spend, supplier performance, inventory, market conditions, regulatory factors, and emerging technologies.
Act as the primary liaison between the company and suppliers within assigned categories.
Drive continuous improvement, productivity, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Provide guidance to other employees involved in resource acquisition and contract activities.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related field, or at least five years of related professional experience.
Minimum of two years of experience in logistics, materials procurement, services procurement, sourcing, or contract administration.
Experience negotiating commercial contracts.
Experience reviewing contracts using Microsoft Word Track Changes and redlining tools.
Ability to understand and negotiate complex contractual language.
Working knowledge of supply chain practices, market conditions, products, equipment, and services.
Basic knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Must be located within commuting distance of Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Must be able to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday each week.

Candidates must meet all required qualifications to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management, or another recognized supply chain certification.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and financial assessment skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to establish credibility with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Proven project management experience.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and contracts simultaneously.

This individual should be comfortable working closely with legal counsel, project teams, suppliers, and senior leadership while maintaining a strong focus on risk management, cost savings, compliance, and supplier performance.

Pay: $33.00 - $38.60 per hour
