Full Job Description

Substitute nurses are essential to ensuring student well-being and continuity of care throughout the school year. This contract opportunity is ideal for compassionate, adaptable nurses available for per diem work in schools near Parryville, Bowmanstown, Apps, Cherryville, and surrounding communities. Provide vital support by stepping in for school nurses or health room technicians during occasional absences in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Desired Qualifications:

Current unencumbered RN or LPN/LVN license in Pennsylvania
Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
Strong assessment, triage, and communication skills
Ability to respond quickly and calmly in health-related situations
Flexibility to travel to different campuses with short notice
Clearances for working in a school environment (background checks/FBI/fingerprinting) or willingness to obtain

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver quality nursing care to students and staff as needed, following individualized healthcare plans
Administer first aid and medications according to district policy and physician orders
Support daily health room operations, including documentation and communication with parents, staff, and providers
Maintain confidentiality and uphold health and safety standards
Collaborate with educators and administration to address health concerns promptly
