Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the education and development of our students. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our instructors to provide individualized attention, assist with classroom activities, and create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and learning. Our program focuses on Montessori principles and educational philosophy, which you will be trained in.

Responsibilities

- Assist teachers as their full time assistants have an afternoon break, and stay to supervise children and provide activities for students of various ages and abilities, (who attend aftercare).
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment, ensuring all necessary materials and supplies are available and properly utilized.
- Assist with the care and supervision of children, including feeding, and toileting, as necessary.
- Develop and implement childcare and caregiving strategies to support the well-being and safety of all students.
- Commit to the hours of 11:30- 5:30 pm.
- Communicate with teachers and director to keep them informed of children's progress and any changes or concerns.

Skills

- Experience working with children of various ages, including preschool.
- Strong understanding of childhood development.
- Ability to provide care and support to students using positive classroom management strategies.
- Experience in babysitting, nannying, or childcare.
- Familiarity with classroom settings and the ability to adapt to a variety of teaching styles and methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to physically assist students as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
