Position Summary
American Steel & Aluminum is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team. In this hands-on role, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, you will help ensure equipment reliability, support preventive maintenance programs, and maintain a safe workplace while developing your technical skills. Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Inspect electrical components, wiring, motors, control panels, and other equipment for proper operation.
- Diagnose basic electrical issues and assist with repairs under the guidance of experienced electricians.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Install and replace electrical components such as sensors, switches, motors, relays, and circuit breakers.
- Support equipment startups, shutdowns, and changeovers as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, electrical codes, and company safety policies.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Assist with maintaining an inventory of electrical parts, tools, and supplies.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Participate in safety meetings and ongoing technical training to develop electrical and maintenance skills.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong Mechanical Background
- Journeyman or Apprentice Electrician License
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational training preferred.

- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Perform physical activities including standing, walking, climbing, lifting, bending, balancing, and material handling throughout the workday.
