Hope Memorial Chapel is looking for a full-time funeral director and embalmer to join our staff in Biddeford, ME. As a family owned funeral home, we have provided professional, compassionate, and personalized services to our community for over 100 years. · Our funeral directors are paid a highly competitive salary that is not dependent on contract sales, pre-need commissions, or other arbitrary metrics. This way, they can spend their attention and energy focusing on accommodating the family’s needs rather than squeezing more sales.
· Our directors do not have to take call or do removals at night unless they volunteer to. This keeps them fresh and alert in the morning for the families they serve.

Our funeral home has the largest facilities in the area with the ability to accommodate 3 funerals at once. We serve all religions and ethnicities. The new hire will be responsible primarily for making arrangements, embalming, dressing & casketing, and running funeral services. While we have a dedicated night time staff, some night hours may occasionally be required from the directors. We prioritize a good work ethic and ability to work as a team when making hiring decisions.

Compensation:
· Competitive salary based on experience

Requirements:
· Have a valid funeral director, embalmer, and/or arranger license in any state, preferably Maine
· 1+ years of experience in the funeral industry preferred for director position
· Valid U.S. driver’s license in good standing with acceptable driving record
· Ability to lift 50 pounds or more preferred, but not required
· Professional attitude and willingness to work
· Excellent interpersonal and social skills
Responsibilities:
· Lead funeral, memorial, and graveside services
· Make funeral arrangements
· Embalming, dressing, and casketing
· Perform pick-ups, removals, and transportation as needed
· Maintain friendly relationships with local area churches, community centers, hospices, and hospitals
· Other responsibilities as needed
· Limited to no night calls or removals
