The Training Documentation Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining and managing documentation that supports manufacturing systems, operational processes and training. This role ensures that work instructions, training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are accurate, current and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Training Documentation Specialist collaborates with Operations, Quality, Information Technology, Engineering, Human Resources and Production teams to ensure employees have access to clear and standardized training documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and edit manufacturing training system documentation.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to document manufacturing processes, workflows, equipment and system functionality.
- Work with third party vendor to create clear, user-friendly documentation for production employees, supervisors, and support departments.
- Ensure documentation complies with company policies, ISO standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Create employee competency evaluations.
- Support leadership in identifying skill gaps and developing employee development plans.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to update documentation following process improvements, engineering changes, equipment installations, or product launches

Develop visual work instructions, process maps, flowcharts, and other instructional materials.
- Conduct regular documentation audits to verify accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support change management initiatives by developing communication plans and training strategies for process improvements.
- Monitor training effectiveness and documentation compliance using performance metrics and/or audit results.
- Miscellaneous projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Communications, Technical Writing or related field preferred

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, technical documentation, quality systems, or process documentation.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
Skills and Competencies

- Ability to translate complex technical processes into clear, concise documentation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
