Job Title: Industrial Service Technician

Salary Range: $28.00–$42.00 per hour and there is plenty of overtime!
Position Summary
The Industrial Service Technician provides responsive service to industrial and commercial customers for a HVAC Industrial Manufacturing company. This role is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of HVAC/R systems, including both comfort and process equipment in classified and non-classified environments.
Equipment serviced may include refrigeration systems, ice machines, air conditioning units, electric motors, heating systems, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, furnaces, boilers, chillers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), ventilation systems, economizers, pressurization systems, and humidity control equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems in industrial and commercial environments.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, long-term solutions.
- Calibrate equipment to manufacturer specifications and verify optimal system performance.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment issues, repair options, and maintenance recommendations.
- Document service work accurately, including equipment information, diagnostic readings, parts used, and jobsite photos.
- Coordinate with dispatch and service management to prioritize work orders and complete jobs efficiently.
- Travel to customer locations while maintaining communication regarding scheduling updates or delays.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support emergency service needs during evenings and weekends.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready company vehicle, including routine inspections and reporting maintenance needs.
- Ensure service vehicle is stocked with required tools, replacement parts, and safety equipment.
- Utilize mobile field service software to complete work orders, service reports, and customer documentation.
- Participate in ongoing technical training to remain current with evolving HVAC/R technologies, equipment, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
- Clean background, drug-free, and acceptable driving record.
- Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
- Strong knowledge of industrial HVAC systems, including DX, chilled water, pressurization, and scrubber systems.
- Proven ability to diagnose, repair, and service comfort and process HVAC/R systems up to 50 tons.
- Experience servicing chillers, boilers, steam systems, and commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Experience working with pneumatic and digital control systems.
- Familiarity with ice machines and work performed in classified or hazardous environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, piping diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of industrial safety standards, regulations, and safe work practices.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with dispatch, management, and fellow technicians.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a commitment to quality workmanship and first-time fixes.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including overtime and on-call rotations, based on customer requirements.
- Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience using mobile or cloud-based field service applications.
Required Certifications
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Basic Safety Certification (HASC or ISTC).
- TWIC Card, or the ability to obtain one.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment when appropriate.
- Ability to climb ladders and work safely at elevated heights.
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy equipment.
- Ability to read technical documentation, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use mobile devices and field service software.
- Approximately 85% of work is performed at customer sites in industrial and commercial environments.
- Frequent local travel is required, with occasional extended travel depending on project and customer needs.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, weather conditions, and industrial environments.

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $28.00–$42.00 per hour
Compensation is based on experience, certifications, technical expertise, and overall qualifications. Candidates with specialized experience in industrial HVAC/R systems, chillers, controls, and process equipment may qualify for compensation at the upper end of the range.
