Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled maintenance manager to oversee the maintenance operations of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) and Paratransit fleet vehicles. In this vital role, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our specialized transportation fleet. Your expertise in mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, and industrial maintenance will drive the success of our facilities and vehicle maintenance programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex maintenance procedures, implement safety regulations, and optimize fleet performance through proactive management and innovative troubleshooting. You will run a maintenance program for wheelchair-accessible vans and sedans across two garages, keeping every vehicle safe, clean, reliable, and ready for service. If you take pride in a shop where preventive maintenance is never late and a wheelchair lift never leaves the garage broken, this role is built for you.

Duties

Lead and supervise a facilities maintenance team responsible for NEMT and paratransit vehicle repairs, ensuring adherence to safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance repair procedures for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and low/high voltage systems across the fleet and facilities.
Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to schedule preventive maintenance, track work orders, and analyze maintenance data for continuous improvement.
Oversee troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
Manage facilities maintenance tasks, including HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, electrical system repairs (including high voltage), and general industrial maintenance.
Manage parts inventory, the secured parts room, and warranty recovery
Maintain complete, accurate records in the fleet management software and report monthly.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations by conducting regular safety audits, maintaining OSHA standards, and training staff on proper safety protocols.
Coordinate projects related to facilities management and fleet upgrades while managing budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships.
Use tools such as ohmmeters and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for diagnostics and system testing to ensure optimal operation of all mechanical and electrical components.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, leadership, and continuous learning within the maintenance department to enhance overall fleet reliability.

Experience

3+ years as a fleet maintenance manager plus 1+ years of general vehicle maintenance and repair experience.
Proven management experience supervising facilities or fleet maintenance teams in a transportation or industrial environment.
Extensive mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in mechanical systems repair, including HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems (including low/high voltage), and industrial equipment.
Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and maintenance tracking.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot engineering issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, ohmmeters, and PLCs.
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to industrial maintenance environments.
Excellent communication skills in English for effective team leadership and coordination with vendors or external contractors.
Prior experience managing facilities or vehicle fleets within a structured organization is highly desirable.
