HER Campaign is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive aftercare, residential, and supportive services for survivors of human trafficking and individuals impacted by trauma, substance use disorders, and co-occurring behavioral health needs. Since our founding in 2016, HER Campaign has supported survivors through crisis intervention, stabilization, and various stages of recovery.
Our mission is to empower individuals to heal, grow, and discover purpose through a continuum of care that integrates safe environments, trauma-informed practices, therapeutic support, and community connection. POSITION OVERVIEW
At HER Campaign, the role of the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Overnight serves the functions commonly identified as a Rehabilitation Aide (RA) within ASAM Level 3.3 Clinically Managed High-Intensity residential treatment programs. This position is responsible for maintaining overnight resident supervision, facility safety, and environmental monitoring within a structured residential milieu. Staff in this position are required to remain awake, alert, and actively engaged in supervision and facility monitoring throughout the entire shift. BHTs play a key role in supporting individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring behavioral health conditions, and those who have survived human trafficking and exploitation by facilitating daily program operations, maintaining a structured therapeutic environment and assisting with the implementation of treatment-related support activities and recovery-oriented services as identified by qualified clinical staff and delegated by the Clinical Director or other qualified behavioral health professional.
The BHT role is a non-clinical support position that implements, supports, and reinforces treatment plans developed by licensed or qualified clinical staff and does not independently diagnose, assess, or provide clinical treatment. Working under the direction of the Clinical Director and the program management team, BHTs provide compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centered care that promotes safety, stability, recovery, dignity, and personal growth. As part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, BHTs help create a recovery-oriented therapeutic residential environment that supports clients engagement, accountability, and progress towards individual treatment goals.
Because ASAM 3.3 services are designed for individuals experiencing significant cognitive, emotional, behavioral, or functional impairments related to substance use and co-occurring conditions, BHTs provide consistent structure, supervision, coaching, redirection, and reinforcement of support activities and recovery skills throughout the entire shift.
BHTs are responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured living environment; supervising daily activities and resident interactions; supporting life skills development; observing and documenting client behaviors, participation, observe and document resident self-administration of medications and provide medication observation support in accordance with physician orders, organizational policy, and applicable regulations. BHTs do not independently administer medications unless specifically trained and authorized under state law and organizational policy; facilitating recovery-oriented and therapeutic activities; conducting routine safety monitoring; and helping individuals engage in treatment, recovery planning, and program expectations.
The BHT serves as a frontline support professional, modeling healthy behaviors, professional boundaries, emotional regulation, and recovery-focused living while helping residents develop the skills necessary to achieve stabilization, sustain recovery, and successfully transition to greater independence within the community. Through consistent engagement, observation, and communication with clinical staff, the BHT contributes to the delivery of high-quality residential treatment services that align with ASAM criteria, trauma-informed care principles, and all applicable Montana licensing and Medicaid requirements.
The purpose of this role is to ensure safety, continuity of operations, and stabilization of the residential environment during overnight hours for individuals receiving behavioral health and recovery services.
