Compensation: $40,000–$60,000 base salary + performance incentives. Commission opportunity is uncapped. Paid time off, employee discounts, free range membership, free firearms training, employee development, and advancement opportunities are included.
This is a true sales role. Midwest Shooting Center is hiring a Membership Sales Manager who knows how to own a pipeline, work a CRM, run a disciplined follow-up cadence, conduct a consultative sales conversation, overcome objections, ask for the business, and close.
You will personally sell memberships and long-term training programs while also coaching our frontline associates to improve membership conversion. A key part of the role is guiding prospects through a complimentary introductory training experience and then conducting a professional sales consultation to determine whether a 12-month weekly training program is the right fit.
Important: general retail management, food-service management, cashiering, or customer-service experience by itself does not meet the sales requirement for this position. We are looking for someone with measurable, quota-carrying sales experience and direct responsibility for closing business.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Own and actively manage the membership and training sales pipeline from lead intake through close, follow-up, retention, and reactivation.
- Work a steady flow of warm prospects and execute daily outbound follow-up by phone, text, email, and in-person conversation.
- Use the CRM every day to document activity, prioritize opportunities, schedule next steps, maintain pipeline hygiene, and ensure no qualified lead is lost through poor follow-up.
- Set and conduct sales appointments, facility tours, needs-discovery conversations, and consultative presentations.
- Conduct or support complimentary introductory training sessions as part of the sales process, then transition naturally into a closing conversation for appropriate 12-month weekly training packages.
- Close memberships, training packages, and other recurring or relationship-based offerings using value-based selling rather than discounting or pressure tactics.
- Handle objections confidently, ask directly for the sale, and follow up persistently and professionally when a prospect does not buy on the first conversation.
- Track and improve key sales metrics such as contact rate, appointment-set rate, show rate, close rate, membership conversion, training conversion, revenue, retention, and pipeline aging.
- Coach sales associates on membership selling through role-play, scripts, observation, objection handling, follow-up expectations, and in-the-moment feedback.
- Set clear sales expectations for associates and create accountability around daily activity, conversion, and revenue goals.
- Partner with trainers and store leadership to improve lead flow, referrals, member retention, and overall location performance.
REQUIRED SALES EXPERIENCE — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
- 3+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in consultative B2C, B2B, membership, inside sales, high-ticket service sales, or another role where you personally owned a measurable revenue target.
- A documented track record of meeting or exceeding individual sales quotas, revenue goals, membership targets, or other measurable closing goals.
- Hands-on experience managing a sales pipeline in a CRM, including lead stages, tasks, notes, follow-up dates, pipeline hygiene, and conversion tracking.
- Experience working a structured sales cadence across phone, text, email, and face-to-face follow-up.
- Demonstrated ability to run discovery, identify needs, present value, handle objections, negotiate appropriately, and close.
- Experience selling a membership, subscription, service package, training program, contract, recurring-revenue offering, or other solution that requires more than a simple transactional checkout.
- Experience coaching, training, mentoring, or leading other salespeople and holding them accountable to sales activity and results.
- Comfort discussing your own sales numbers in an interview, including quota, attainment, close rate, average deal size, pipeline volume, and specific examples of wins and misses.
Not enough on its own: retail supervision, restaurant management, hospitality, customer service, or hourly sales-floor experience without a personal quota, CRM/pipeline ownership, structured prospect follow-up, and direct closing responsibility.
THE SALESPERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Charismatic and highly comfortable meeting new people, building rapport quickly, and leading a conversation.
- Competitive, goal-oriented, and motivated by measurable performance and incentive compensation.
- A confident closer who is comfortable asking for commitment and money when the solution is a good fit.
- Disciplined with follow-up. You do not rely on walk-in traffic or wait for prospects to call you back.
- Coachable and process-driven, but able to think on your feet and adapt your communication style to the customer.
- Strong enough as a salesperson to coach others, role-play difficult conversations, and raise the sales standard of the entire location.
- Professional, trustworthy, safety-minded, and capable of representing Midwest Shooting Center with a wide range of customers.
BACKGROUNDS THAT MAY TRANSLATE ESPECIALLY WELL
- Fitness club, gym, personal-training, or studio membership sales
- Automotive sales or F&I
- High-ticket home services, home improvement, or in-home consultative sales
- Insurance, financial services, or other relationship-based sales with measurable quotas
- Powersports, RV, marine, or other high-ticket specialty sales with CRM follow-up
- B2B account executive or inside-sales roles with a strong direct-closing component
- Training, coaching, education, or service-package sales
