Join our Food & Nutrition Services team as a Retail Nutrition Care Coordinator at St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana , and help lead daily operations in the Good Day Cafe , serving caregivers, visitors, patients, and community members. In this shift leadership role, you'll help guide daily café operations, provide support to team members, and help ensure a great experience for both guests and coworkers.

As a working leader, you'll continue delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with responsibilities such as coordinating daily workflow, supporting catering functions, maintaining inventory and supplies, and helping create a welcoming dining experience for every guest. Job Function

This position is responsible to lead the Culinary Services team or service line when other leadership is not on-site within the Culinary Services department while fulfilling the role of the Nutrition Care Associate.

Essential Functions

Leads and maintains workflow of assigned area and ensures tasks are completed.
Resolves immediate issues such as service recovery, coaching/redirecting caregivers, and rearranging staffing. Escalates to manager as appropriate.
Participates in orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, and leading employees as appropriate.
Ensures that department standards for quality, sanitation, and safety are met.
Communicates issues with the appropriate members of management.
Contributes to achievement of consumer satisfaction goals, patient engagement goals .
Responsible to implement, under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager, best practice, system-level initiatives.

Qualifications

Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire date if not current
Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work independently as well as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques, in all applications
Understands workflow, prioritizes, uses timelines, understands deadlines

Preferred:

Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service
Understands modified diets
Demonstrated ability to utilize commercial cooking equipment

Physical Requirements

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
