Position Overview
The Electrical Helper / Apprentice will work alongside experienced electricians on residential electrical service calls, installations, panel work, and whole-house standby generator installs. This position is a good opportunity for someone who wants to learn the electrical trade, work safely, follow directions, and is willing to work in attics, crawlspaces, garages, and outdoor jobsite conditions when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist electricians on residential service calls and installations
- Help install wiring, boxes, outlets, switches, lighting, breakers, conduit, and electrical devices
- Assist with whole-house standby generator installations
- Carry materials, set up tools, clean jobsites, and help keep trucks organized
- Learn safe work practices around panels, circuits, and electrical equipment
- Follow directions from lead electricians and supervisors
- Assist with basic documentation when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout residential and light commercial job sites for the duration of the workday
- Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry tools, materials, ladders, and equipment
- Perform physical activities including bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and working in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics
- Work in outdoor and indoor environments in varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and company vehicles as assigned
- Maintain attention to detail and work safely around electrical equipment at all times
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Some construction, electrical, HVAC, generator, or mechanical experience is preferred
- Willingness to learn residential electrical and generator work
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools is helpful
- Dependable, coachable, and willing to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow company safety policies, electrical code requirements, and manufacturer instructions
- Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field-service software is a plus
