As our Digital Marketing Specialist, you'll help shape how our community experiences public media every day. From producing engaging social videos and interactive content to supporting website updates and email marketing, you'll play a key role in growing our digital presence and expanding the reach of trusted journalism, educational programming, arts, and community storytelling.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, produce and edit engaging content across WSKG’s social media platforms via short-form videos and multimedia content using Adobe Premiere, Canva, or similar programs.
- Collaborate with various departments to enhance WSKG’s content and campaigns along with content from NPR and PBS on social channels.
- Research industry trends, trending audio/sounds and competitor content to inform new ideas.
- Work with the News team to post stories to social media in a timely and engaging fashion.
- Support marketing of WSKG events through coordinated social media campaigns.
- Assist various departments with graphic design work including templates and social images.
- Provide support for WSKG’s newsletter strategy, including layout, design, and implementation.
- Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar for non-news social media content.
- Track and compile social media performance data; assist in preparing reports and insights.
- Regularly attend WSKG events to capture photo and video content for digital use.
- Engage with audiences across platforms by monitoring, moderating and responding to comments, messages and interactions, including deleting offensive comments or images.
- Support the Director of Marketing and Chief Content Officer to refine and evolve social media strategy.
- Perform day-to-day social media operations, including scheduling, posting, monitoring and moderating, and content updates.
- Maintain WSKG website, creating and editing pages as required.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Experience in social media marketing, digital content creation or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with video production and editing.
- Experience working with social media analytics and performance data.
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to contribute ideas for engaging digital content.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including comfort with public speaking and community engagement.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Knowledge of or interest in public broadcasting, journalism, or cultural organizations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field required OR years of equivalent hands-on, proven experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Equipment Listing (Machines, Tools & Software):
- Experience with video editing tools (e.g., CapCut or similar).
- Graphic design skills and familiarity with tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with Brightspot or similar CMS.
- Experience with Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or similar communications platform.
- Must be able to operate computer, email, Google and Microsoft Suite.
- May be required to operate a printer, copier, fax machine, telephone, scanner, and calculator.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, cameras, and mobile devices
- Ability to travel to and attend occasional off-site events, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift and carry light equipment (e.g., cameras, tripods, promotional materials), typically up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in group settings
- Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment, including motor vehicle
- Stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Climb up or down stairs
- Able to reach above or below shoulders
