Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Travel Clinical Polysomnographic Technician (Sleep Technologist) to join a busy Sleep Disorders Center. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled sleep professional with expertise in diagnostic polysomnography, CPAP/BiPAP titration studies, sleep scoring, and patient monitoring. You'll work alongside physicians and clinical specialists to deliver accurate sleep diagnostics while providing exceptional patient care in a professional sleep medicine environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive overnight Polysomnography (PSG) studies following AASM guidelines.
Conduct CPAP/BiPAP titration, split-night studies, and diagnostic sleep studies.
Prepare patients by reviewing medical records, explaining procedures, and applying electrodes and monitoring equipment.
Continuously monitor patients throughout sleep studies, recognizing and responding to physiological events and emergencies.
Score sleep studies accurately according to AASM Scoring Manual standards.
Complete documentation and scoring in a timely manner while maintaining high-quality data.
Communicate patient status, abnormal findings, and clinical concerns to physicians and leadership.
Assist patients with post-study care, equipment removal, and discharge instructions.
Participate in quality assurance activities, inter-scorer reliability reviews, and staff training when needed.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety and infection prevention protocols.

Requirements

Associate's Degree from an accredited Polysomnography program.
Active RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification.
Active New York Registered Polysomnographic Technician License or New York Respiratory Therapist License.
Current BLS Certification (AHA, American Red Cross, or HSI).
Strong knowledge of AASM guidelines and sleep study protocols.
Excellent patient assessment, monitoring, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently in a quiet overnight clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Sleep Medicine experience.
New York Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
Experience performing advanced diagnostic and titration sleep studies.
Strong understanding of sleep disorders and respiratory physiology.

Schedule Details

13-Week Travel Assignment
40 Hours Per Week
5 x 8-Hour Night Shifts
Night schedule with consistent full-time hours.
