Operations Lead

Location: Conklin, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Lead to support the day-to-day operations of multiple affiliated businesses within the construction and transportation industries. This role serves as a key partner to ownership and is responsible for helping drive operational efficiency, administrative oversight, payroll administration, compliance activities, and fleet-related coordination.

The ideal candidate will combine strong administrative and operational experience with the ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and support daily business operations across multiple companies.
Process payroll and maintain employee payroll records.
Manage certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting, when applicable.
Maintain employee records, onboarding documentation, and compliance files.
Coordinate fleet-related administration, including registrations, inspections, permits, maintenance records, and tracking.
Assist with project documentation, reporting, and operational recordkeeping.
Support accounts payable, invoicing, and other administrative functions.
Serve as a liaison between ownership, field personnel, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Review and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Provide leadership and guidance for administrative workflows and priorities.
Support special projects and strategic business initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience in operations, construction administration, office management, business administration, or a related role.
Strong payroll experience required.
Prevailing wage and certified payroll experience strongly preferred.
Fleet administration or fleet management experience preferred.
Construction, excavation, transportation, trucking, or related industry experience highly preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
