To conduct business requirements reviews, technical systems specifications and systems process analysis. To develop detailed selection evaluation criteria. To analyze and re-engineer business processes using industry standard tools and methods with understanding of the technical and business environments. To partner with business process experts to learn and understand problems with software. To develop innovative IT solutions for risky and demanding business situations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides 24x7x365 support of Enterprise Interface Engine and all of its components. Ensures High Availability.
- Assists with direction on system upgrades and changes affecting interfaces directly and indirectly.
- Assists with direction the testing and validation on all types of integration and interfaces for all systems.
- Assists in the assimilation of new software applications and programs into an organization's existing Health Information Technology environment and strategic goals.
- Assists in determining systemic needs, recommending changes, implementing new software solutions and instructing users about the interface function, mapping and processing.
- Assists in reviewing the processes of infrastructure and operating systems of the company and recommending options for developing process efficiency for assimilating data availability.
- Participates in the implementation process for outside software while also designing, coding and maintaining applications developed in-house.
- Contributes in providing recommendations on system integration techniques to the department heads for making operating activities more capable.
- Provides guidance on workflow improvements, conducting design training sessions, coordinating with data analysis and defining functional requirements.
- Monitors system efficiency, updates current software to correct errors and supports software system installation.
- Other duties range from maintaining internal websites and databases to account billing and communicating customization requests to vendors.
- Develops and makes improvements through scripting and automation.
- Assists in making client environment modifications within client's system constraints. Resolves and troubleshoot system issues in the client environment.
- Participate in analysis and design of business process, training development, and deployment planning.
- Present and evaluate end user capabilities and assemble data to conduct analysis.
- Interact with end user team members to complete project activities and deliverables.
- Conduct studies on automation techniques in interfacing functional areas.
- Provides integration assistance to colleagues.
- Performs on call duties when called upon as well as participates in an on call rotation with team members.
- Assist other groups, develop and maintain real-time HL7, web services and batch interfaces between core clinical applications, patient registration and financial applications.
- Supports EMPI user management, integration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Works well with others and understands staff and needs.
- Works well with internal and external customers such as Network, Server, Technical Support, Applications and Infrastructure teams to maintain a high availability computing environment.
- Maintains vendor relationships related to the task or project they are working on at the time as well as support.
- Attendance must be maintained at a higher than acceptable level. Must be available at any time to assist with issues, upgrades and on call support.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills related to interface/integration code, data transformation and support of the interface and documentation on problem resolution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Understands the basic functions and importance of clinical and financial data in a Health System environment.
- Experience with SQL, PSQL, and other Oracle database mining and troubleshooting tools such as Toad, SQLPlus, WinSQL, MS Access or equivalents.
- Experience with indexing tools such as e-Index, Aligndex, Initiate, Nextgate and or other EMPI or MDM product and systems.
- Experience with other enterprise systems such as GE, McKesson (IIP/Comlink), Cerner (OpenEngine/OpenPort/OEManager).
- Experience with one or more enterprise interface engines (e-Gate, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth) Rhapsody preferred.
- Experience in the design, development, deployment and support of healthcare standard interfaces using HL7, FHIR, X12, XML, WS, HTTPS, IHE, Web Services and custom formats.
- Knowledge of object oriented programming, standardization and re-use.
- Knowledge of Java, J2EE, Java Script, HTML, XML.
- Knowledge of UNIX, AIX, Solaris, cron, shell scripting, process monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience in how Interfaces and networks work together, public/private IP addressing, SFTP, DNS, port use, VPN tunnels.
- Knowledge of protocols such as FTP, SFTP, TCPIP, HTTPS.
- Knowledge of healthcare and financial message formats HL7, FHIR, X12, XML, PDF, RTF, IHE, Web Services and custom fixed and variable data formats.
- Knowledge of user, organizational and network level security models, purpose and use.
