Job Description

The Employee Relations Partner – Workplace Investigations role serves as a subject matter expert in Employee Relations and workplace investigations. This role partners with leaders, Human Resources, Legal, and employees to address complex workplace concerns, conduct employee relations investigations, interpret employment policies, and support a fair and respectful workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Investigations

Conduct timely, thorough employee relations investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace misconduct, policy violations, and other workplace concerns.
Manage investigations from intake through resolution, including planning, conducting interviews, gathering documentation, analyzing facts, and preparing investigative summaries and recommendations.
Present findings and recommendations to HR leadership and other stakeholders while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Ensure investigations are conducted in a fair, objective, and consistent manner in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Employee Relations Consultation

Consult with managers, leaders, and HR partners regarding employee conduct, performance concerns, workplace conflict, attendance issues, and policy interpretation.
Provide guidance regarding employee relations best practices, risk mitigation, and appropriate resolution strategies.
Promote positive employee and leader relationships through effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and policy education.

Compliance & Documentation

Maintain accurate, thorough, and confidential documentation related to employee relations matters and investigations.
Apply organizational policies, procedures, and employment laws consistently and fairly.
Identify trends and emerging workplace concerns and provide recommendations to leadership to proactively address issues.
Maintain case management records and reporting to support organizational compliance and decision-making.

Collaboration & Partnership

Partner with Human Resources, Legal Counsel, Compliance, and operational leaders on complex employee relations matters.
Provide coaching and guidance related to investigative planning, interviewing techniques, documentation, findings, and case closure.
Serve as a resource for workplace investigations and employee relations matters across the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
Five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant experience in Employee Relations and workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace conduct, and policy violations. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Experience interpreting and applying employment policies, procedures, and employment laws.
Experience preparing formal written documentation, recommendations, and investigative summaries.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting employee relations in a healthcare, academic medical center, or other highly regulated environment.
Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
Experience partnering with employment counsel and HR leadership on complex employee relations matters.

This position requires Human Resources and Employee Relations experience. Experience limited to law enforcement, criminal investigations, security investigations, or other non-HR investigative functions is not considered equivalent experience for this role.
