Job Overview

Sakana Sushi Bar & Grill is looking for a skilled, reliable, and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team! We are a fast-paced, high-volume All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Restaurant dedicated to serving fresh, high-quality sushi and providing outstanding customer experiences.

Whether you are an experienced sushi chef or someone with strong knife skills and a willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Prepare sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, nigiri, and other menu items according to restaurant standards.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
Maintain consistency in food presentation, quality, and portion sizes.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
Prepare and stock ingredients before each shift.
Keep the sushi bar and kitchen clean, organized, and sanitary.
Work efficiently during busy lunch and dinner services.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely service.
Assist with inventory management and notify management of low stock.
Help develop new menu items and daily specials when appropriate.

Qualifications

Previous sushi chef or sushi preparation experience preferred.
Strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Dependable, punctual, and a team player.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Food Handler Certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain one).
