Full Job Description

Position Overview

The General Manager – Birmingham is the senior leader of our Birmingham branch and owns full P&L accountability for the market. This is an operational leadership role responsible for driving profitable revenue, developing and retaining talent, delivering quality outcomes for clients, and building a high-performing branch culture.

You will report directly to the President and serve as a key voice in company-wide leadership decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

- Leadership and Team Management

Lead, manage, and hold the Birmingham branch team accountable to clearly defined roles and outcomes
Conduct regular one-on-ones, branch meetings, and performance reviews.
Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Identify and develop internal talent; recruit for gaps

- P&L Ownership

Own branch revenue, gross margin, and overhead targets
Review financial performance weekly; understand and act on variances
Manage labor efficiency, subcontractor costs, and overhead spending
Partner with the President and Financial Controller on forecasting and planning

- Project Delivery

Ensure all projects are completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards
Oversee the PM and field teams; remove obstacles and maintain project momentum
Enforce C2's project management processes, documentation standards, and safety protocols
Serve as an escalation point for project issues before they become customer problems

- Client and Account Health

Own customer retention outcomes for the Birmingham branch
Serve as the escalation point for at-risk client relationships
Maintain visibility into account health across active projects and recurring service clients
Partner with the sales team to support strategic pursuits and ensure seamless client handoffs

- Workforce Development

Recruit, retain, and develop field and office talent to support branch capacity and culture
Partner with the Administrative Director on hiring, onboarding, and HR processes
Champion training and certification development for field staff
Identify workforce gaps and build a pipeline of qualified candidates

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of operational leadership experience, ideally in construction, contracting, or a trades-adjacent industry
Demonstrated P&L ownership
Strong people leader
Process-minded
EOS experience is a plus; willingness to operate within a structured system is a must
Low-voltage, electrical, or technology contracting experience preferred but not required
