Pierce & Pierce Attorneys, PLLC is a mid-sized law firm headquartered in Gadsden with offices and attorneys throughout Alabama. The firm handles many areas of criminal law, family, and probate law. About the Role

Pierce & Pierce Attorneys are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our team. As a Paralegal, you will assist attorneys with preparing cases, conducting legal research, organizing documents, and communicating with clients and court personnel. The ideal candidate is efficient, organized, and experienced in handling a variety of legal tasks with professionalism and discretion.

Paralegal Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for case preparation
Draft legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and affidavits
Organize and maintain case files, evidence, and legal correspondence
Assist attorneys during trials, hearings, and depositions
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court officials
Review and summarize case materials and transcripts
Ensure legal compliance and assist with document filings
Monitor deadlines and court schedules using case management tools

Paralegal Qualifications and Skills

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther)
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program (preferred)
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a legal setting or law firm
Experience in litigation, corporate, or family law is a plus
