Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Male Caregiver to join our team in Birmingham. This vital role involves providing personalized care and support to a male senior ensuring their safety, comfort, and independence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, be attentive to individual needs, and demonstrate a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns promptly.
Administer medication following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences, supporting overall health and well-being.
Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely and effectively.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and sanitation.
Document care activities accurately in accordance with agency policies and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.

Qualifications

Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's or dementia care is preferred.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory impairments such as dementia is advantageous.
Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills with a respectful approach towards clients’ privacy and dignity.
