Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting clients with their tax filing needs, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and delivering exceptional customer service. Your expertise in tax preparation, accounting software, and financial concepts will help clients navigate complex tax situations confidently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in public accounting while making a positive impact on our clients’ financial well-being.

Duties

Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns using advanced tax preparation software
Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documents and explain tax-related information clearly
Stay updated on changes in tax law and regulations to provide accurate advice and maintain compliance
Assist clients with tax planning strategies to optimize their financial outcomes
Manage client relationships through proactive communication, client acquisition efforts, and marketing initiatives
Support bookkeeping and accounting tasks using software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
Analyze financial documents and reports to identify potential deductions, credits, or areas for improvement

Experience

Proven experience in tax preparation, ideally within public accounting or a related field
Strong knowledge of tax law, tax reporting, and compliance requirements for various entity types
Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial management tools
Demonstrated ability to handle complex partnership and corporate tax scenarios with expertise in partnership tax procedures
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to clients
Strong analysis skills combined with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry (10 key typing proficiency)
Background in financial sales or client acquisition is a plus for expanding our client base
Basic math skills essential for accurate calculations and data analysis
Experience using tax return preparation software efficiently and accurately
