Associate Chiropractor — Sports, Rehab & Performance
Bismarck Sports + Spine | Bismarck, ND
Part or Full-Time
This Isn't a Typical Associate Chiropractor Position
If you're looking for a job where you adjust 30–50 patients a day, follow the same treatment plan for everyone, and send patients home with a generic exercise sheet, this probably isn't the right fit.
But if you're the kind of chiropractor who wants to become an exceptional clinician, work with active people, understand why someone hurts, and help patients go beyond pain relief and actually return to the things they love — keep reading.
Bismarck Sports + Spine is building something different.
We are a modern sports, rehab, and performance clinic designed to bridge the gap between traditional chiropractic care, rehabilitation, recovery, and performance.
Our patients aren't looking for a quick crack.
They want answers.
They want a plan.
They want to understand what's limiting them — and they want a provider who can help them do something about it.
We work with active adults, athletes, lifters, runners, golfers, rotational athletes, busy professionals, parents, and people who simply refuse to accept that getting older means they have to stop doing the things they love.
Our goal is simple:
Help people live Life Without Limits.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a chiropractor who is hungry.
Not desperate-for-a-job hungry.
Hungry to learn. Hungry to improve. Hungry to become excellent at their craft.
You don't need to walk through our doors knowing everything.
In fact, we'd rather hire someone who is highly coachable and obsessed with getting better than someone who believes they already have everything figured out.
The right person:
- Loves working with active people and athletes
- Wants longer appointments and the ability to actually think through cases
- Is interested in movement, biomechanics, strength, rehab, and performance
- Understands that an adjustment can be valuable — but shouldn't be the entire treatment plan
- Wants mentorship and constructive feedback
- Is comfortable being coached
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Communicates exceptionally well with patients
- Can explain complicated concepts simply
- Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
- Has positive energy and contributes to the environment around them
- Wants to build relationships in the community
- Is willing to get outside their comfort zone
- Cares deeply about the patient experience
- Wants a career they can grow into, not simply a place to collect a paycheck
You should genuinely enjoy people.
Our patients need to feel heard, understood, challenged, encouraged, and confident that there is a plan.
What Great Looks Like Here
Being a great chiropractor at Bismarck Sports + Spine isn't measured by how many adjustments you can perform in an hour.
It's your ability to assess, think, communicate, treat, reassess, and progress.
We want providers who ask:
Why is this happening?
What are we missing?
What does this patient actually need to get back to their goal?
How do we know what we're doing is working?
Treatment may incorporate chiropractic manipulation, manual therapy, mobility work, corrective exercise, strength and rehabilitation, movement retraining, recovery technology, and other tools based on what the patient actually needs.
Our clinical philosophy follows four phases:
RESET → RESTORE → SUSTAIN → PERFORM
Get symptoms under control.
Restore the movement and capacity they're missing.
Build resilience.
Then help them return to life, sport, training, or performance with confidence.
You'll Have More Tools Than Just Your Hands
We believe great clinicians should have access to great tools.
Our clinic incorporates technology and treatment options such as:
- Kinetisense 3D movement assessments
- VALD strength testing
- INDIBA TECAR therapy
- Dry needling
- Active Release Techniques and manual therapy
- Cupping and instrument-assisted soft tissue work
- Chiropractic manipulation
- Drop and flexion-distraction techniques
- ARP neurotherapy
- Normatec recovery
- Mobility and corrective exercise
- Progressive rehabilitation and strength training
But here's something important:
We don't collect shiny equipment just to say we have it.
You will learn how to determine when something is appropriate, how to use it effectively, and how to measure whether it's actually helping the patient.
What You'll Get From Us
We expect a lot from our team.
Which means we believe we should provide a lot in return.
Mentorship
You will not be thrown into a room and told, "Good luck."
You'll have opportunities for case review, technique review, clinical education, treatment planning, and collaborative problem-solving.
We want you asking questions.
We want difficult cases discussed.
We want everyone in the building getting better together.
Time With Your Patients
We believe great care requires enough time to listen, assess, educate, treat, and progress patients appropriately.
We aren't building a high-volume adjustment mill.
Exposure to Sports + Performance Care
You'll work with people who want more than symptom relief.
You'll learn how to take someone from:
"It hurts."
to
"I can move again."
to
"I'm strong enough to keep this from controlling my life."
to
"Let's see what my body can actually do."
A Clinic Investing in Growth
We're actively building the next version of Bismarck Sports + Spine.
That includes expanding our rehabilitation and performance services, recovery technology, strength and conditioning capabilities, specialty programming, and eventually a significantly larger performance-based facility.
We aren't hiring someone simply to fill today's schedule.
We're looking for people capable of helping us build what comes next.
Career Growth
For the right person, this position can become significantly bigger than simply "Associate Chiropractor."
Future opportunities may include:
- Clinical leadership
- Specialty program development
- Mentoring future providers
- Community education
- Athlete and sports programming
- Leading clinical training
- Helping develop systems and standards
- Growing new services
- Leadership opportunities as the organization expands
The ceiling on this role will largely depend on what you demonstrate you're capable of owning.
What We Expect From You
We will invest in you.
We expect you to invest in becoming excellent.
That means showing up prepared, continuing to learn, accepting feedback, participating in team development, documenting appropriately, communicating with patients, following through, and taking ownership of your responsibilities.
It also means understanding that being a healthcare provider doesn't end when treatment ends.
You'll help educate patients.
You'll build relationships.
You'll participate in community events and partnerships.
You'll represent the clinic professionally.
You'll contribute ideas.
You'll help make the clinic better.
And when something isn't working, we expect you to help solve it rather than simply point it out.
Our Culture
Skill matters.
Culture matters just as much.
We want people who bring energy into the room rather than drain it.
We believe in:
Excellence as the baseline.
Being coachable.
Always learning.
Taking ownership.
Serving the person in front of you.
Being relentlessly optimistic about what is possible.
And being genuinely obsessed with the mission.
We work hard.
We laugh.
We experiment.
We challenge each other.
We celebrate wins.
We expect high standards without creating a miserable place to work.
No egos.
No "that's not my job."
No hiding problems.
No chronic negativity.
We want teammates who look around and ask:
"What can I do to make this better?"
Who Should NOT Apply
This probably isn't the right position if:
- You primarily want to adjust patients and move on
- You dislike rehabilitation or exercise
- You aren't interested in learning movement assessment
- Feedback makes you defensive
- You need someone constantly telling you what to do next
- You prefer working independently rather than collaborating
- You aren't comfortable talking to people or building relationships
- You view continuing education as something you "have to do"
- You're looking for the easiest chiropractic job available
There are plenty of clinics where those things may work.
We're intentionally building something different.
Who SHOULD Apply
Apply if you're reading this thinking:
"This is the kind of chiropractor I want to become."
Maybe you're a new graduate looking for the right environment to develop your skills.
Maybe you've been practicing for several years and realized the traditional high-volume model isn't how you want to practice.
Maybe you're already passionate about sports chiropractic, rehab, strength and conditioning, movement, or performance and want an environment where those interests are encouraged.
You don't have to be the finished product.
You do need to want to become exceptional.
Requirements
- Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic program
- Eligible for chiropractic licensure in North Dakota
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Interest in sports medicine, rehabilitation, movement, and performance
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing clinical development
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- High level of personal responsibility and professionalism
Experience with sports chiropractic, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, dry needling, ART, DNS, SFMA/FMS, TPI, or similar systems is valuable but not required.
We can teach techniques.
It's much harder to teach curiosity, humility, work ethic, ownership, and genuine care for people.
The Opportunity
We're not trying to hire another set of hands.
We're looking for someone who could become an important part of where this company goes over the next several years.
Someone who wants to look back and say:
"I helped build that."
If you're looking for a clinic where you can learn, contribute, be challenged, treat active people, develop as a clinician, and potentially grow into leadership as the organization expands, we'd love to meet you.
How to Apply
Please submit your resume through Indeed.
But don't just send us a resume.
Include a short response answering these three questions:
- What made you stop and apply for this position specifically?
- What type of chiropractor do you want to become over the next 3–5 years?
- Tell us about something you've deliberately worked to become really good at. What did you do to improve?
We're less interested in receiving the "perfect" answer.
We're interested in understanding how you think, what motivates you, and where you want to go.
