Job Summary
The Territory Sales Representative (TSR) plays an essential role in the success of the company by building, maintaining, and growing our customers, and enhancing their experience with Dennis Supply Company. As a TSR, you will be visiting our customer’s business location and representing a trusted HVAC and Refrigeration industry wholesaler by providing outstanding sales support to our customers.
E Essential Functions
· Provide exceptional customer service to all assigned customers.
· Build strong, valued, long-term relationships with all levels of individuals within our customer base to ensure customer satisfaction and continued sales relationship.
· Analyze market and develop new dealers appropriately.
· Work closely with each assigned customer account to identify and implement potential opportunities and solutions for growth and new business.
· Utilize internal and external resources (vendors, DSC employees, experts, etc.) to provide the best service and support to our customers.
· Think strategically for each individual account to develop the best approach to growth.
Experience & Qualifications
· 2+ years of experience in sales
· HVACR, or other relevant professional/technical, experience is preferred but not required.
· Basic computer skills (Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)
· Ability to work with customers, vendors, and other employees in a courteous, professional manner.
· Ability to listen and have a clear understanding of customers’ needs.
· An exceptional ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences, via individual meetings, public speaking and virtually.
· Ability to use, or learn how to use, Dennis Supply’s order entry system, to enter quotes, check inventory and check pricing for customers.
· Ability to conduct both in person and virtual meetings and training.
· Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up with customers.
· Ambitious, self-directing, and proactive.
· Ability to work on your own or as a team, and lead when necessary.
· Comfortable speaking in front of all sized groups of people.
· Ability to listen and communicate by phone, writing, and in-person in a professional and prompt manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop an assigned list of customers who work in the residential and light commercial market.
· Gain and maintain knowledge of everyone’s role inside customers’ businesses, to create a trust-based, cohesive partnership.
· Maintain a focus on excellent customer service, understand and respond to customer needs.
· Handle all customer requests professionally and efficiently, and in a way that works best for the customer (method of preferred communication, time of day, etc.)
· Utilize resources, data, and own knowledge to determine both short- and long-term opportunities for customers, and then capitalize on them.
· Be persistent in the development of accounts.
· Know, explain, and train customers on product features and benefits.
· Sell and understand the benefits of the products we carry.
· Introduce new products to customers.
· Increase sales and gross margin dollars with assigned customers.
· Work collectively with your sales manager to develop, implement, and complete a sales plan and goals for each customer.
· Proactively execute sales plans and promotions throughout the year across multiple customer accounts.
· Track and monitor account activity and understand how to maximize the profitability of each account.
· Electronically submit sales calls, competitive information, and follow-up notes.
· Establish and maintain a good working relationship with appropriate vendors.
· Gain and maintain basic understanding of: heating-cooling and r efrigeration systems and Indoor air quality (IAQ) products and application
Continually evaluate your education in the technical and business areas
Educational Experience
· High school diploma or GED required, additional certification or coursework from a college or technical school is desirable.
