The Document Control Clerk compiles and maintains control records and related files to release blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examines documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
- Confers with document originator or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
- Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
- Maintains related files.
- Prepares requests for reproduction of documents.
- Operates reproduction equipment.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Mathematical skills.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet – typical of what is generally found in an office setting. The employee will occasionally find it necessary to enter a manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment is typical of that type of setting – employees may be exposed to inclement weather, loud noises, tripping hazards; and there may be exposure to sparks, welding arc, open flame, and moving equipment.
