Kaman Air Vehicles (KAV) is seeking a Sr. Warehouse Specialist at our Bloomfield, CT location. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory control, shipping/receiving, and mentoring team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This role utilizes Kaman's ERP/WMS systems to manage inventory, optimize workflows, and ensure compliance with safety procedures. Typical duties include advanced inventory analysis, forklift operation, and coordinating logistics with internal teams and external partners.

Coordinate receiving, picking, packing, and shipping activities, including complex domestic, international, and government shipments.

Assist with cycle counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management systems.

Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and workflows using Lean principles to improve efficiency.

Manage multiple stockrooms, including shelf/bin setup and maintenance, and select inventory for sales orders and Bills of Material (BOMs).

Process and close work orders accurately within the ERP system while ensuring inventory transactions are completed correctly.

Train and mentor new hires while providing day-to-day leadership and sharing best practices to support workflow and productivity goals.

Coordinate with carriers for inbound and outbound shipments and track equipment as needed.

Ensure adherence to OSHA, FAA, DOT, and company safety procedures.

Utilize ERP systems, email, and warehouse documentation to prioritize work, communicate with internal teams, and support daily operations.

Work between office and warehouse environments, including using forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other warehouse equipment as needed.

Handle serialized inventory and large paper work orders with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Support warehouse operations by assisting in other areas as business needs require.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in warehousing, logistics, or inventory control; aerospace experience is a plus.
Skills:

Ability to read and follow work instructions.

Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Experience with Epicor ERP is preferred.

Experience with or knowledge of TATS (time- and temperature-sensitive materials) processes is preferred.

High accuracy in managing inventory records, manifests, shipping documentation, and serialized inventory.

Ability to resolve scheduling, shipment, inventory, and work order discrepancies.

Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate multiple software systems.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process complex work orders and inventory transactions.

Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and management.

Certification and proficiency operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and lifting.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.

Ability to wear required PPE (gloves, eye protection, etc.).
Work is performed in a warehouse environment where adherence to safety, environmental, and quality procedures is mandatory. Employees regularly transition between computer-based work and hands-on warehouse activities throughout the day. The warehouse environment may be warm during summer months, cool during winter months, and dusty at times. Employees may handle adhesives, resins, solvents, and power tools and are expected to follow all PPE and safe handling practices. Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensure proper storage and handling of materials, follow waste disposal requirements, and stop work for unsafe conditions.
