Full Job Description

Major Duties:

Performs duties ensuring facility standards/needs are met for children in care. Coordination of Campus activities as it relates to program in light of OACM mission of being a Christ Focused Ministry. Supervision and Oversight of the residents within the program.

Admission and Discharge:

Conduct interviews, with the assistance of the Residential Coordinator and Supervisor, of potential residents, reviewing referral information, make appropriate recommendations to Program Director based on team’s observations.
Ensure everyone is knowledgeable of Intakes and Discharges (Program Director, Executive Director, Office Manager, Direct Care staff)
Coordinate intakes (routine and emergency)
Assist with exit interviews of residents upon discharge.

Communication:

Support Residential Behavioral Specialists in obtaining appropriate documentation, see that it is completed and forward to the Program Director (incident reports, pain management forms, special precautions, etc).
Plan and coordinate with Residential behavioral specialist all activities, vacations, outings, summer vs school schedules, submit to Program Director for authorization.
Assist Residential Behavioral Specialists with documentation: daily logs, medication logs, incidents, resident training records, etc.
Asist Program Director with Performance Improvement reviews as needed, i.e. Critical Incidents, restraints, licensing review check list and other trainings.

Treatment:

Asist Program Director with implementing special programs for residents as needed (IL, specialized recreation, etc.).
Ensure all group home staff maintain working knowledge of all youth’s treatment plans and files.
Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to all residents.
Facilitate and organize treatment teams on a weekly basis, document and provide record of notes to placing agencies, therapist, and biological families’ members as appropriate.
Prepare court reports and transport all youth to court hearings.
Review and approve all monthly reports for each resident in care.
Assist in providing Treatment Plans and Care plans as required for each resident.
Communicate with placing agencies in order to keep them informed of youth’s progress and needs.
Set up visits with families for each youth, keep direct care staff informed of visitation schedule and any supervision or no contact requirements.
Communicate with youth’s family in order to solicit their input as well as keep them informed of their child’s progress/needs.
Ensure all residents receive sanitation/nutrition training
Ensure all residents 16 and older meet IL requirements.

Unit Supervision:

Assist with shift coverage in the home as needed.
Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to direct care staff as needed.
Assist in preparing home for inspections and audits by State Licensing Consultants, State and Local Health Departments, Fire Marshall, etc. Assist with ensuring home is maintained to these standards at all times.
Assist with training new staff on policies, procedures, and routine job responsibilities.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Assist with interviewing and hiring of direct care staff.
Provide after-hours emergency on call responsibilities for direct care staff members.

Factor 1 Skills. Knowledge and Abilities required by the position

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field, from an accredited college or university.
Above average organizational and oral/written communication skills
At least 21 years old, no criminal record, valid driver’s license, and pass physical examination.
Extreme need for flexibility and ability to work with a variety of different personalities/employees.

Factor 2 Supervisory Controls

Reports to Program Manager
Incumbent performs routine work on own initiative. Work is reviewed to determine that the objectives are met and are compliance with agency polices and regulations.

Factor 3 Staff Oversight:

Assist with hiring, training, and termination of staff in coordination with Program Manager, and Executive Director.

Factor 4 Guidelines

Applicable Federal, State, Local and Agency policies and procedures.
Department of Child Services Clinical Audit Standards

Factor 5 Personal Contacts:

Contacts are with Open Arms staff, youth served, and their biological families, services providers, therapist, schools, and others involved in the day-to-day care and supervision of youth in care.
Purpose of contacts are for the exchange of information, reporting problems, making appointments, etc. to carry out daily living functions.

Factor 6 Physical Demands

Work involves interaction with children in a home environment which includes walking, bending, lifting, climbing, carrying bags and boxes, etc.
Some travel to court hearings and team meetings and trainings are required.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $37,000.00 per year
