Process tenants move outs in system and request deposit release from escrow

Company Description

NJ Development and Property Management Company with a diverse commercial and residential portfolio seeks a skilled Accounts Receivable Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the timely collection of outstanding tenant invoices, ensuring accurate recording of payments, and maintaining excellent customer relations. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving payment issues.

A/R Coordinator – Real Estate Salary Commensurate with Experience ($50k-60k)

Full-time, In-office Monday to Friday

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Record incoming tenant rent to individual tenant ledgers
Process new residential tenants; establish escrow subaccounts for same
Audit and process Company Credit Card analysis
Process Recurring Expenses (Insurance, Utilities, Reimbursables, etc)
Process and manage incoming payments, ensuring accurate recording in the accounting system.
Monitor and maintain customer accounts, including applying payments, updating account details, and managing billing adjustments.
Generate and send out invoices, following up with customers on overdue payments.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies by investigating payment history, reviewing outstanding balances, and collaborating with internal teams.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions.
Prepare and review aging reports to track and escalate overdue accounts.
Work closely with the leasing department to resolve customer inquiries regarding billing issues or payment disputes.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process by providing reports on receivables.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to billing and collections.
Support the accounting team in various ad-hoc financial reporting tasks and projects.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable at a real estate management company plus:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
Proficient in QuickBooks and/or Yardi and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and best practices.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial regulations is a plus.
