Hope Against Trafficking is seeking a compassionate Case Coordinator to support survivors of human trafficking as they rebuild their lives.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through steady support, thoughtful coordination, and genuine care, helping ensure every resident has the resources and encouragement they need to move toward healing and independence.

About Us

Hope Against Trafficking is a nonprofit organization providing safe housing and restorative support for adult survivors of sex and labor trafficking in Southeast Michigan.

The organization operates Magdalene Detroit, a 24-month, rent-free residential program designed to support survivors’ physical, emotional, and economic transformation. Residents receive access to essential resources, trauma-informed services, life-skills support, and a compassionate community focused on long-term healing, dignity, stability, and independence.

Every member of our team plays an important role in helping survivors rebuild their lives with hope, purpose, and lasting independence.

Position Summary

Reports to: Program Director

Purpose: To provide support to the Residential Coordinator, Residents and Program Director.

Key Responsibilities

Establish strong, appropriate, and caring working relationships with survivors of human trafficking in the residential environment.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other organizations as needed, for care coordination response and collaboration.
Coordinate closely with the Resident Coordinator and other staff members to carry out the mission and development of an ever-improving system of care for the survivors served.
Maintain up to date documentation on clients and services for grant reporting and research purposes.
Driving and accompanying residents to their medical appointments

Qualifications & Requirements

The Case Coordinator will work directly with residents and other staff members. This includes but is not limited to direct service providers, hospitals, and in- and outpatient agencies. The position requires direct transportation of residents to doctor appointments. This includes prescription medication pickups, and other transportation as needed.

2 years’ experience in trauma informed care and with an understanding of it.
Bachelor's degree in BSW: MSW preferred.
Strong communication skills and team player.
Ability to write and maintain professional case notes in a timely manner.
Show integrity and humility.
Ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Organizational skills and Detail oriented.
Valid driver’s license; clean driving record, proof of insurance; and reliable transportation to attend meetings, training, and transport residents to appointments as appropriate.
Understanding how to abide and uphold confidentiality.
Willing to work evenings and weekends as required. (Flex Hours)
Experience in case and or residential management or equivalent position with experience working with trauma, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, victim assistance, child protective service, youth in foster care or human trafficking populations.
A heart for justice and passion for this work with a compassionate and understanding nature.

Job Description

The Case Coordinator will be required to perform a wide range of duties, including but not limited to the following.

Work with the Program Director and residents to create individualized service plans that help survivors identify and reach their mental health and life goals.
Dispensing medication for in-house residents, monitor the use of meds, and organize, count and keep clear records of dispensing and all prescriptions.
Making all medical, dental and vision appointments with appropriate doctors and ensuring the residents are aware and ready to go on time for each appointment.
Review Hope Against Trafficking mission, strategic plan, goals, and visions, and collaborate with Program Director and Executive Director to implement department goals.
Understanding how to abide and uphold confidentiality and HIPAA laws.
Assist in facilitating intake and orientation of new residents. This includes preparation of case binder and all paperwork.
Meet weekly or bi-weekly with the Program Director (at the discretion of the Program Director) to manage chart progress of residents.
Complete and maintain all required records and documentation with daily case notes in Charity Tracker, Incident reports, and any other requested documentation.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other direct service organizations and stay updated on resources.
Work with the Program Director and Resident Coordinator to provide crisis intervention for residents and graduates as needed.
Communicate all concerns regarding residents’ treatment and behavior in a timely manner to both Resident Coordinator and Program Director.
Ensure all residents receive trauma informed care at all levels of the organization.
Ensure all appointments arrival times are on time and maintain the mileage tracking long, ensuring everyone is driving recording the appropriate mileage.
Participate in all meetings with residents to address conflict and encourage their growth.
Attend all staff meetings, workshops, retreats, training and events.
Facilitate random drug tests, (At least twice per month) and file all results for all residents in the provided binders as well as their case binder. Also, breathalyzer.
Implement the Policies and Procedures and House Guidelines and provide appropriate consequences when not followed. Write up as needed, in a timely manner.
Meet weekly as a program team with Executive Director to review progress, concerns regarding individual residents and the overall program issues and events.
Provide feedback, support and recommendations to the Program Director regarding special events, crisis management, volunteers, staff, policies, procedures and guidelines as appropriate.
Be second on call for after hours and weekend emergencies.
Perform reviews alongside Program Director at 30-, 60-, and 90-day reviews with residents.
Meet regularly with the Program Director as requested.
Assist with training and coordination of training as needed.
All casework including but not limited to DHS, SSD, job coordination, job training, school enrollment, drive schedule, accompany residents and take notes at doctor appointments, coordination of psychiatry and therapy through Easter Seals, and all other case work assigned by Program Director.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
