Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel’s facilities in the Naperville/Warrenville area. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff.

Your expertise will help uphold the highest standards of facility management, ensuring all maintenance tasks are performed efficiently and effectively. This is a hands-on role for a “jack-of-all-trades” professional who takes pride in delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Minimum Requirements:

5+ years of hotel or commercial maintenance experience (required)
Strong knowledge of drywall, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
Experience repairing and maintaining water heaters and water softener systems
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed (required)

Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems
Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and facilities equipment
Complete drywall repair, painting, carpentry, and general handyman tasks
Diagnose and repair water heaters and water softener systems
Perform basic welding tasks (preferred, not required)
Utilize hand tools and testing devices (e.g., ohmmeters) to diagnose and resolve issues
Maintain maintenance logs and work orders using CMMS or similar systems
Oversee projects and coordinate with vendors or contractors when needed
Follow and enforce safety protocols during repairs and installations
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and management

Skills & Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
Strong mechanical aptitude and MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) experience
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
Skilled in carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance
Welding experience preferred, but not required
Experience with CMMS systems is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Leadership ability to supervise vendors or small projects when needed
