Full Job Description

Job Summary

To provide diagnostic Computed Tomography Services to inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients under the direction of the supervising radiologist in accordance with established operating procedures and clinical protocols. To provide safe, prompt, efficient, and cost-effective CT Services.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate CT imaging equipment to produce detailed cross-sectional images for diagnostic evaluation
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and maintaining proper positioning
Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self during imaging procedures
Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to ensure optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy
Assist with specialized imaging procedures such as PET scans, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, mammography, DEXA scans, and interventional radiology techniques
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed and patient information in compliance with hospital policies
Monitor patient vital signs and physiology during imaging procedures, especially in emergency or trauma situations
Ensure all medical equipment is operated correctly, maintained, and calibrated regularly
Follow aseptic techniques to prevent infection during invasive or sterile procedures

Requirements:

Required Education: Certificate of Completion from Radiologic Technology Program. OR -College Diploma in Related Field.
Required Certifications & Licensure: Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA). -BLS (American Heart Assoc.) -Registered in Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). --And one of the following: -Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT). OR -Registered in Computed Tomography (CT)
Proven experience in diagnostic radiology with proficiency in CT imaging techniques
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes
Skills in operating advanced medical imaging equipment including PET scanners, fluoroscopy units, mammography machines, DEXA scanners, and nuclear medicine devices
Familiarity with implementing radiation safety protocols and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members
Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments requiring precise technical execution
