This position is for candidates seeking to practice in the areas of business law, corporate, and real estate transactions. This position is not for candidates desiring a litigation or trial-focused practice.

Scope of Work
The potential scope of work may include, among other tasks, (1) drafting business/corporate contracts; (2) representing buyers or sellers of residential, agricultural, or commercial real estate; (3) representing buyers or sellers of businesses, including advising regarding due diligence, negotiations, and documentation of transactions; (4) establishing limited liability companies, corporations, and other business entities; (5) merger and acquisition transactions; (6) counseling clients regarding corporate governance documents.

The ideal candidate is someone who (1) has exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal English communication skills; (2) has outstanding time management skills; (3) thinks strategically, critically, creatively, and swiftly; (4) is a strong team player who functions well in a professional and collegial environment; (5) is focused on solving problems, serving clients, and achieving successful results; (6) actively listens and comprehends the objectives of others; (7) does not sacrifice integrity or character; (8) has a proven record of achievement; (9) has strong legal research and writing skills, and strong academic credentials; (10) responds well to mentorship and constructive feedback; (11) demonstrates the potential to "make partner;" and (12) desires to live, work, and grow in Central Illinois, and (13) either has been admitted to the Illinois Bar or will pursue successful admission to the Illinois Bar after graduation.
