Job Summary
Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-service focused Part-Time Financial and Program Support Coordinator to join our team.
Department Specific Responsibilities

Performs moderately complex administrative financial duties in support of the department's daily business operations, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures as well as applicable federal and state regulations.

Assists with other administrative duties as assigned.

Serves as primary point of contact for IU Nursing faculty and staff regarding financial transactions. Provides guidance and support on procurement policies and procedures.

Processes various documents and reimbursements into the university's central information systems (Travel, KFS, HRMS, etc.).

Reconciles travel and p-card transactions.

Reviews and verifies the accuracy, completeness, and adherence to university purchasing policies for all submitted requests. This includes ensuring proper chart of accounts coding, appropriate vendor selection, and justification for purchases.

Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to BUY.IU transactions, collaborating with relevant university departments (e.g., Purchasing, Accounts Payable) as needed.

Exercises sound judgment in managing inquiries, resolving issues, conducting research, and interpreting complex information to inform decisions and recommendations.

Maintains budget records by gathering and compiling financial data; assists with building models from historical and current information; and examines statistical and/or historical data.

Maintains operational procedures, reference materials, and shared documentation for internal and external partners in accordance with university policies.

Independently manages special projects while ensuring all operations align with university policies and promote a cooperative, collegial environment.

Assists with new employee onboarding.

Provides operational and administrative support throughout event planning and execution. Serves as a liaison to support successful event delivery and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the university and the facility.

Monitors accessibility for Canvas courses. Assists faculty with creating new course content or resolving identified accessibility issues.

May assist with administrative needs related to the daily operations, planning, and implementation of various or multiple student services or department initiatives.

Collaborates with other team members to ensure smooth day-to-day functions.

Identifies, enhances, and follows specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the business to which the support is being provided.

Identifies opportunities to improve administrative processes and supports efficient office operations.

Acts as informal resource for colleagues with less experience; responds to more complex or escalated inquiries.

May assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
-
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
Preferred
-
Some college coursework in business, accounting, finance, human services, or a related field.
SKILLS

Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

General knowledge or demonstrated ability to learn basic functionality of IU systems (KFS, HRMS, SIS).

Basic accounting and financial skills; ability to reconcile accounts.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Ability to execute administrative tasks with attention to detail.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work Location
Bloomington, Indiana
This is an in-person position.
Work Hours
20-25 hours per week. Schedule may vary based on business need.
Preference given to candidates with daily availability Monday -Friday .
