GRAVICOM is seeking an Mechanical Engineer - IV to support our government customer. This role involves working closely with government engineers to supporting Navy Combat Systems.

Description:

The Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to the AN/SLQ‑32(V)6 engineering group supporting maritime expeditionary warfare systems. The individual will contribute to lifecycle engineering activities, including design support, test execution, maintenance documentation, and troubleshooting across fielded systems and test environments. This role requires hands-on engineering support, technical documentation expertise, and the ability to operate within a Navy systems engineering environment, including travel for test events.

Key Responsibilities

Support Engineering Investigations (EIs) by analyzing system deficiencies, root causes, and corrective actions.
Provide technical troubleshooting support for AN/SLQ-32(V)6 systems, including remote (distance) engineering assistance.
Develop system-level knowledge to support fleet issue resolution.
Assist in the development, review, and coordination of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
Interface with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and In-Service Engineering Agencies (ISEAs).
Support technical evaluations, impact assessments, and documentation updates related to ECPs.
Conduct periodic reviews and updates of existing Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs).
Develop new MRCs based on engineering changes, system updates, and fleet feedback.
Ensure alignment with Navy maintenance standards and system configuration.
Support planning and execution of Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT).
Review test data and reports for technical accuracy and compliance.
Assist in preparation and review of technical documentation, reports, and engineering artifacts.
Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, test results, and configuration updates.

Position Requirements:

Experience supporting DoD or Navy systems (preferably C5ISR, electronic warfare, or combat systems).
Experience with AN/SLQ‑32 or similar Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
Familiarity with Navy maintenance processes (MRCs, PMS, etc.).
Experience supporting environmental or qualification testing (MIL-STD-810 or similar).
Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly/disassembly of test systems or hardware integrations.
Knowledge of systems engineering principles in a naval/defense environment.
7+ years expereince

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Active Secret Clearance required or eligibility to obtain and maintain it (interim clearance may be required before starting).

Other

Ability to travel 10% of the time.
