Position Summary
United Christian Academy is seeking an energetic, mission-driven Athletic Director to lead the school's interscholastic athletic programs. This position plays an important role in advancing the mission of the school by developing a Christ-centered athletic culture that pursues excellence while intentionally shaping the character, leadership, and faith of student-athletes. Working closely with the Head of School and leadership team, the Athletic Director is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for all middle school and high school athletic programs. This position oversees coaches, athletic operations, budgets, scheduling, facilities, and compliance with conference and Minnesota State High School League regulations while fostering positive relationships with students, families, officials, and the broader school community.

Key Responsibilities
Athletic Leadership
● Provide leadership and oversight for all middle school and high school athletic programs.
● Recruit, hire, mentor, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff.
● Develop coaches as leaders who intentionally disciple student-athletes.
● Cultivate a Christ-centered athletic culture that emphasizes character,
sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and competitive excellence.
● Support the academic, spiritual, and athletic growth of student-athletes.
● Ensure all athletic programs align with the mission, philosophy, and core
values of United Christian Academy.
Athletic Operations
● Coordinate athletic schedules, contests, practices, transportation, officials, and facility usage.
● Oversee athletic registrations, eligibility requirements, physicals, and required documentation.
● Manage uniforms, equipment, athletic inventory, and department resources.
● Ensure athletic events are organized, safe, and professionally executed.
● Maintain compliance with Minnesota State High School League, conference, and school policies.
● Maintain accurate athletic records and departmental documentation.
Budget & Program Management
● Develop and manage the annual athletic department budget.
● Exercise faithful stewardship of athletic resources and expenditures.
● Coordinate athletic fundraising efforts in partnership with the Booster Club and school leadership.
● Assist in planning for the continued growth and development of athletic programs and facilities.
● Ensure timely completion of required reports and compliance documentation.
Communication & Community Relations
● Serve students, families, coaches, officials, and visiting schools with professionalism, warmth, and a customer service mindset.
● Communicate clearly and consistently regarding schedules, expectations, policies, and athletic opportunities.
● Build positive relationships while addressing concerns with fairness, professionalism, and biblical principles.
● Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to promote athletic programs and celebrate student achievements.
● Represent United Christian Academy with integrity, professionalism, and Christ-like character.
Leadership
● Collaborate with the Head of School and leadership team on student life and athletic initiatives.
● Support school-wide events and activities that strengthen community and school culture.
● Provide leadership in developing long-term goals for the athletic department.
● Promote a culture of integrity, servant leadership, collaboration, and excellence.
● Support the school's mission of cultivating the mind, engaging the heart, and equipping students for action.
Required Qualifications
● Three to five years of coaching, athletic administration, educational leadership, or related experience.
● Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgment and professionalism.
● Knowledge of Minnesota State High School League rules and regulations or the ability to quickly become proficient.
● A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission, philosophy, and Statement of Faith of United Christian Academy.
Preferred Qualifications
● Degree in Educational Leadership, Sports Management, or a related field.
● Previous experience as an Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.
● Minnesota teaching license and/or varsity coaching experience.
● Experience working in a Christian school or ministry environment.
● Experience developing coaches and implementing leadership or character development initiatives.
