About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team. This role is suited for a seasoned property accounting professional ready to take ownership of a complex portfolio. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and be responsible for preparing financial statements, working with clients and auditors, leading annual budgets, and serving as a resource for the broader accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze variances.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes; own annual budget preparation for assigned portfolio.
Record journal entries, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare account reconciliations.
Manage property cash positions; monitor available funds and prioritize accounts payable disbursements to ensure critical invoices are paid on time while limiting aging of other outstanding payables.
Review accounting and system reports for accuracy.
Support Resident and Regional Managers.
Assist with onboarding new properties into the accounting software.
Collaborate with the controller on ad hoc projects.
Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors and lenders.
Review work of and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

What We're Looking For:

Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Property management or real estate accounting experience required.
Attention to detail and high level of integrity and ethics.
Minimum 2-year degree in accounting or finance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Yardi Voyager experience preferred.
Experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties is a strong differentiator.

Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 a year depending on experience
