Job Summary

The Director of Technology is responsible for leading MCF's technology function and advancing the Firm's technology-enabled growth strategy. This role provides leadership, governance, and oversight for business applications, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, automation initiatives, technology vendors, operational transformation projects, and acquisition integrations.

The Director of Technology serves as the primary bridge between executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical resources. The role ensures that technology investments, business systems, automation opportunities, and operational initiatives align with firm strategy, improve scalability, strengthen the client and employee experience, and support MCF's continued growth.

This position leads a small but growing technology team while providing direction, prioritization, coaching, and accountability across multiple initiatives and external vendor relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

+ Develop and maintain the Firm's technology roadmap aligned with strategic priorities.

+ Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities to improve scalability, operational efficiency, client experience, and employee productivity.

+ Establish governance, priorities, standards, and decision frameworks for business technology initiatives.

+ Develop annual technology objectives, resource plans, vendor strategies, and success metrics.

+ Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership regarding technology investments, operational transformation, automation, and digital enablement.

Organization & Team Leadership

+ Lead and develop the technology team.

+ Establish technology departmental priorities and workload allocation.

+ Establish clear priorities, responsibilities, development plans, and performance expectations.

+ Create accountability for project execution, documentation, communication, and follow-through.

+ Mentor team members and build organizational capability around business systems, automation, and operational excellence.

Business Systems & Digital Transformation

+ Provide strategic oversight and governance for Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and business applications.

+ Establish governance, standards, processes, and controls for technology solutions.

+ Lead business process improvement initiatives across operations, client service, compliance, finance, and integration teams.

+ Evaluate and prioritize automation opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.

+ Ensure projects move successfully from concept to sustainable adoption.

Microsoft 365, SharePoint & Automation Governance

+ Provide executive oversight for Microsoft 365 governance, SharePoint architecture, permissions, security groups, and user experience.

+ Guide SharePoint modernization efforts, governance standards, content organization, site architecture, and adoption initiatives.

+ Establish standards for Power Platform development, documentation, support, and lifecycle management.

+ Oversee automation initiatives utilizing Power Automate and related technologies.

+ Ensure technology solutions remain scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.

Technology Vendor Management

+ Own executive relationships with the MSSP, software providers, implementation consultants, and other technology vendors.

+ Manage contract renewals, licensing strategies, escalations, roadmaps, and service delivery.

+ Ensure vendors operate effectively and remain aligned with MCF priorities and standards.

M&A Technology Integrations

+ Lead technology due diligence and transition planning for acquisitions.

+ Approve integration and data migration plans.

+ Resolve escalated integration issues.

+ Ensure readiness milestones are achieved.

Operational Excellence & Governance

+ Create visibility into project status, decisions, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and execution progress.

+ Establish project governance, documentation standards, operating procedures, and reporting frameworks.

+ Lead continuous improvement initiatives across business operations and technology functions.

+ Develop meaningful performance metrics and executive dashboards that support decision-making.
