Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join our healthcare team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. In this vital role, you will provide expert pharmaceutical care across various hospital departments, ensuring safe and effective medication management for diverse patient populations. Your clinical expertise and commitment to patient-centered care will support our mission to deliver exceptional health outcomes. This position offers flexibility for qualified pharmacists eager to contribute their skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Responsibilities

Dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician prescriptions, ensuring adherence to all pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medication reconciliation and review of medical histories, to optimize therapeutic outcomes
Collaborate with healthcare teams in specialized units such as ICU, PICU, oncology, emergency room, and trauma centers to develop and adjust medication plans
Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile IV medications using aseptic techniques, ensuring proper infusion practices and dosage accuracy
Monitor drug therapy effectiveness, manage adverse reactions, and provide patient education on medication use and safety
Maintain detailed documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards
Precept pharmacy residents, interns, or new staff members while promoting best practices in clinical pharmacy and patient care

Qualifications

Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the applicable state or region
Extensive clinical pharmacy experience across hospital settings, including ICU, emergency room, or trauma centers
Demonstrated expertise in critical care pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, pain management, oncology medications, and acute care protocols
Proficiency with Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EMR/EHR platforms, and drug regulation standards
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles relevant to inpatient care
Experience with IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, medication administration, and drug compounding
Prior post-residency practice experience in managed care environments or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable
Excellent patient assessment skills coupled with a commitment to patient service and safety
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
